Juice Cleanse Do’s & Don’ts

Can I eat fruits or vegetables during the cleanse?

Yes. Any fruits and vegetables are allowed during a cleanse. One thing you have to keep in mind is the more fruits and vegetables you consume the higher the calorie intake is. This means that if you goal is weight loss, your results will not be as good if you were to just drink the juices. Always remember to hydrate yourself, whether or not you will be eating fruits and vegetables.

When should I start and finish the juices each day?

There is not one answer for this, because everyone has a different schedule. Ideally you want to have you first juice roughly an hour after you wake up. First thing when you wake up is to have some warm water to get the digestion started. Our bodies digest these juices relatively fast so having your last juice 1-2 hours before going to sleep is ok. The most important thing when doing a juice cleanse is to listen to your body. Everyone is different so do what works for you.

Can I drink coffee or tea during the cleanse?

Yes you can drink tea. We recommend detox tea or green tea, but black tea is okay too. If you are a regular coffee drinker then it is okay to drink some coffee. However it is advised not to use any dairy or sweeteners.

If you are decided not to consume and caffeine at all and are experiencing severe headaches, we advise you listen to your body and have some tea/coffee to see if the headache goes away.

Can I eat a salad during a juice cleanse detox?

Yes. A light salad once a day is okay. However we recommend you go very light on the dressing, better yet don’t use it at all. But if you have to, extra virgin olive oil is a healthy option.

 

How many juices should I be drinking each day?

Whether you are doing a 3, 5 or 7 day cleanse the amount of juice bottles to consume each day is 6. However it is okay if you drink an extra juice one day and the next day you drink one less.

How much water should I be drinking during the juice cleanse?

Water intake depends on your body weight. It is very important to always stay hydrated even if you are not doing a juice cleanse. Humans are 70% water so it’s crucial that we always rehydrate ourselves. We recommend you drink 2-3 quarts a day to help flush the toxins out of your system.

What should I eat before the juice cleanse?

One day before the cleanse we recommend that you eat wholesome foods and try to avoid:

Meat, Poultry Processed Starches, Dairy & Eggs. Instead we recommend fruits, raw or steamed vegetables salad with apple cider vinegar as your dressing, raw almonds and smoothies.

 

What should I do during the cleanse?

During the juice cleanse detox you will be drinking 6 different juice bottles a day along with 2-3 quarts of water. Make sure to give your body plenty of rest/sleep. Your body will be in a severe caloric deficit so it is completely normal for the first day have low energy levels. If you have to eat, then eat some fruits or vegetables. We advise to keep away from strenuous activity during the juice cleanse.

What should I eat after the juice cleanse?

Now that you have supercharged your body, it’s time to make sure you maintain the progress. We recommend you start by introducing gentle foods for the first 2 days like smoothies, salads, veggies, fruits and soups. After that go ahead and re-introduce food like poultry, fish and whole wheat rice. Always remember to control your portion size and include greens with each meal.

 

What should I do if I feel sick during the juice cleanse?

If you start feeling sick during the cleanse we advise you stop the cleanse and freeze the juices for a later time. It is very important to follow the pre cleanse instructions to get your body ready for the cleanse. The symptoms you might experience are headaches and stomachaches, if you feel very sick we advise you contact your physician.

About the Juices

Are the juices Raw?

Yes! Our juices are always raw. They do not go through HPP and are not Pasteurized.

Are the juices cold pressed?

Yes, we only make cold pressed juices. We never blend our produce.

Are the juices Gluten Free?

Yes, fruits and vegetables that are used to make the juices are all gluten free.

How are the juices shipped?

Raw Fountain Juices are shipped frozen in a special insulated box with gel packs to make sure the juices arrive frozen/cold.

How long is the shelf life of the juices?

Frozen juices have a shelf life of 6-8 months. Once the juices are thawed we recommend that they be consumed within 3-4 days. However you can refreeze them right after you receive them and consume at a later time.

Can I do a juice cleanse while pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not recommend doing a juice cleanse why pregnant or breastfeeding. While on a juice cleanse you are lowering your daily caloric intake by more than 50%. When you are pregnant you should be eating at a surplus because you have to eat for 2. So it is best not to do anything that will lower your caloric intake while being pregnant. However just drinking the juices as a snack is completely fine. These juices are made from healthy fruits and vegetables. (We are not medical professionals and can’t by law give advice, if you would like to know more about this topic we suggest you speak with your physician)

Does freezing destroy the nutrients and enzymes in the juices?

Freezing slows the enzyme activity, but does not destroy it. As long as the juices are frozen as soon as they are bottled there will not be any loss of nutrients. And this is exactly what we do at Raw Fountain. Once the bottle is capped it goes into the freezer!

How much protein do the juices have?

The fruits and vegetables that are used for the juices are low In protein. The green juices tend to have more protein. Each bottle has anywhere from 0-4g of protein. To see the full nutritional facts you can check the back of the bottle.

Should I do a juice cleanse If I am diabetic?

No. Even though the sugar in the juices is from raw fruits and vegetables, it is sugar non the less. The juices contain a high amount of sugar and they will spike your insulin levels. We recommend that you speak with your physician about doing juice cleanses with your condition.

How do I know what fruits and vegetables are in each juice bottle?

Every juice has nutritional information on the back of the bottle, it can be found there.

How are the juices made?

The fruits and vegetables are grinded and pressed using a commercial juicer. There is no heat involved, so all of the nutrients are preserved.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

We ship to all of the US except Alaska and Hawaii. (Sorry guys, the juices will spoil before they get to you)

Do you ship internationally?

No, we do not ship internationally.

How are the juices shipped?

The juices are packaged in a special insulated box with gel packs to make sure they stay frozen/cold. Most of the packages are shipped via Fedex Ground / Home Delivery. Commercial addresses only get deliveries Monday-Friday, Residential addresses get deliveries Monday-Saturday.

When will I receive my order?

We are located in NY. We try to ship the same or the very next day, however if you are located on the west coast we will wait until Monday. The reason being is that shipping during the weekend adds 2 days of transit time and this can cause spoilage.

If you would like to receive the cleanse on a certain day, we can arrange that. Simply email us at info@rawfountainjuice.com  and let us know who you are and when you want your cleanse delivered and we will make it happen!

Refunds & Returns

I ordered by mistake, can I get a refund or return the order?

If we have not shipped the order then we will issue you a full refund. However, if we had already shipped the order we cannot issue you a refund. Unfortunately the juices are perishable and they will spoil by the time you return them back to us. Thank you for your understanding.
